II Corinthians 3:18

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. II Corinthians 3:18

Love Languages

The greatest love of all has come,
to dwell here with us,
to dwell in us.

God most certainly comes to us in ways we can understand.
(Romans 1:20, James 1:21)
He sent His only son to dwell among us,
John 1:14
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw
His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The child born unto us would hold every temptation to mankind

Every emotion ever felt
Even as He asked for "this cup to pass"
He was "grieved unto death"

And I think,
The God who speaks in ways humanity can understand,
The one who sent a part of himself to earth to be communion with us,
Desires intimacy with us, his bride.

Do I give that to him?
And I think...
He speaks to us in ways we understand,
And we speak back in our many love languages
Love
God is Love
And we speak that language of love

If all that is in me is In Him
I speak out to those with Him that is in Me,
seeking for Him in you,
Hoping you will find Him and choose communion with Him also.

Words of Affirmation

Ephesians 4:29
29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

Words of encouragement are not just mere words.
They live to build
It is the condition of the recipient's heart that enfolds around them
Beating stronger
A complement builds and does not tear
It holds the hand and says, "run with me!"

Quality Time

Quality time grows two together
two hearts beating as one
Time with the Voice of God
allows the heart to hear
to grow and hear
Samuel had not yet grown to hear
to make the voice familiar
(1 Samuel 3)

Receiving Gifts

1 Thessalonians 5:18
give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Counting up
A list grows
Thankfulness overflows
When cups are empty and bones are weary
A heart still beats for Life of Him
Thank You

Ann Voskamp
Who beautifully knit words together
That have set my heart running each day toward more...
Seeking more beauty
in the blessings
even the tragedies
Thank you Ann
Thank you
Christ
For continuing to set my heart aflame

Acts of Service
Matthew 25:40
"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

It is a privilege
The fulfilling of a commission
The heart that beats to say, "Yes!"
As Peter did that day
a midst the salt and brine
(John 21:15-17)

Physical Touch

1 Corinthians 11:23-26
23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

This IS his body and blood...

Through this...
this cleansing
This washing clean
We are clean to commune to be In Him
They fan the flames and live the language of love
to those about us
being Christ
in and through
and round about
Bringing forth blessings
as we are blessed
