II Corinthians 3:18

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. II Corinthians 3:18

Gateway

 The anticipation was intense
Children giddy with delight
New discoveries to be made
On that day we were seeking The Gateway
We wound our way though the city streets
Parking next to the mighty river
Right there
Where the boats have moored for over
a hundred years,
We parked right there
On the cobblestone
The stories it could tell...

Then it appeared on the horizon,
The Gateway to the West
At over 600 ft. tall,
It dwarfed everything surrounding it.

Next came the stairs
Leading to the Gateway...

And once cresting the hill
It stood
Open and ready
For all who would enter

The anticipation mounted
Entering a small egg shaped container
We were shuttled to the top of the Gateway
From there
The view was magnificent

The courthouse could be seen clearly
It was intended to be a part of The Gateway Monument
Earlier as we crested the stairs
The courthouse was clearly visible
When looking through the arching Gateway

My Tummy was all "Wibbly Wobboly"
As we looked below

All seemed so crystal clear
The cars, buses and trains traveling to and fro
People in such a hurry

And there it stood slightly to the left
A church
Cross held high
just
Slightly left of the Open Gateway

And I looked in wonder
At the courthouse and the church
the courthouse front and center and the church...
slightly to the left.

To the heart
each one has a gateway

A Gate does one of two things
Keeps things out
or
Keeps things in.

Open
or
Closed

A gate stands
To let ones in
or keep ones out

And what of the keys?
If we handed the keys over to the One
The "Great I Am"
And we let Him direct us
to use our heart as He sees fit
So others might know His love...
Even if that means
Sharing life
joys
and
sorrows
So another might join in
in the everlasting love of the father.

What if we gave up the keys
And instead of allegiance to Justice at the center
We set relationship at the center
Relationship with the Three In One

What if,
We ran the white flag of surrender up
Complete surrender
To the will and way of the master key holder?
What then?

Would He have you keep the gate to your heart locked away?
Keep you from sharing that love?

Or would the gate fling wide open?

Matthew 7:13-14
13 Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

The gate is narrow
It is as narrow as your heart
And as thin as a key
Who holds the keys to your heart?

Remember the great gift
The Gift of Jesus Christ
this Christmas Season

John 14:6
Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
