Well. With everyone posting about back to school... This has been on my mind.
Here we are,
Back at it,
A fresh new year ahead.
With new books.
Blank books.
Ready to be written on.
How often do we want that in life?
"Blank books"
...a clean slate
Psalm 103:12 tells us As far as the east is from the west, so far he has removed our transgressions from us.
So with God. When we turn from sin and to Him we get a clean slate in His eyes. There is no greater love than this!
But just like in school, we come with a history.
In school past experiences are what we build on...
They are our framework to begin writing in our blank books.
And... even though our sin is washed completely away...
We still view our lives through the eyes of our history.
What happened...
When...
The good along with the bad.
Sometimes... I have a hard time remembering,
"I am a child of God"
Because I have soul amnesia... and I remember the past...
Somehow...
I choose to let that past I have lived through write my future.
I forget to walk in the Truth...
I forget to walk as living proof...
That I He calls me child and I can call him Abba... daddy...
A perfect daddy
A daddy that heals me from the past...
The past I can't change,
But that I can say, I lived through that and I am loved.
That the trials sharpened me and helped me cling only to Him.
He healed me so that I can continue to love as he loved me.
So, your past won't vanish into thin air.
Yes, those flooding bad memories may return.
The strength you gained by living through those trials with God at your side will also be there.
Christ's righteousness will be all God sees as you stand before his throne
repentant and turned from sin to God and God alone
Wanting Him more than you
Living in the truth.
Living FOR the truth
Struggles and all.
Philippians 3:8-11
8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law,but that which is through faith in[a] Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. 10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.
