The thing is... I made this quilt out of scraps. They were just cast offs that were given to me. I like the fabrics...They are pretty. They go together. I sewed them together just as I would have done with an expensive print.
Most of all... I'm warm. That's what a quilt is for right? It is made with love- to keep one warm.
I guess that's something I've learned the last few years. Things are just that. Things.
I didn't realize how frayed our towels were until my daughter complained that they were wrapping around the clothes in the dryer and making knots. But- the towels still work fine for towels. They absorb water when you get out of the shower. Even though they are frayed- I don't feel like we need new ones.
A rug keeps dirt from tracking in. A plate holds food. I guess what I'm getting at is that something doesn't have to be beautiful to function. It just has to function.
So if scraps are what you have- make beauty of it. And if the towels are rags but still absorb. You're in business!
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. ore up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." Matthew 6: 19-20
