A white truck eases into the driveway.
Cowboy boots step out...
A deal is made...
The handshake...
An old weathered sign,
has seen years of life go by...
untold stories deep beneath the chipping paint.
"Only enough to read it, keep the patina in tact."
The new paint would not bring forth the years of stories,
The lives that had touched this family.
Those will come later...
Later this week.
The memories,
The laughter- steeped in tears.
97 years of life
70 years of marriage
9 children, and too many grands and great grands to count
The sign representing the family can't tell the stories
but we can...
And we will...
your memory lives in our heart.
The sign was given to be painted a day before grandpa passed on. The sign was painted two days after grandpa's passing. The stories will be told Sunday at 5pm.
